Capture the Flag competitions are globally recognized as an effective and powerful way for existing cyber operators and cyber security students to test their skills and gain new ones. The 2021 5D CTF features challenges across multiple levels of difficulties including:

Keynote Speaker: Jimmy Sanders
Jimmy Sanders
Head of Information Security, Netflix DVD
Jimmy has spent his career creating holistic and innovative security programs as well as learning security ideas from some of the industries brightest minds. In addition to his duties at DVD.com, Jimmy currently serves as the San Francisco Bay Area chapter president of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) since 2014. He is also on the ISSA International Board of Directors, a Board member of the Information Security Leaders Foundation (ISLF), and a member of the Office of the CIO. Furthermore, he has been a keynote speaker at BlackHat, SecureWorld, InfoSec World as well as other notable events. Prior to DVD.com, Jimmy Sanders has also held key roles at organizations that include Samsung, Fiserv, and SAP. He is a Cyber Security Committee advisor for Merritt College, Ohlone College as well as on advisory board for other colleges and non-profit movements. Jimmy Sanders maintains the certifications of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk Information and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM). He holds degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Science from San Jose State University.

Fifth Domain and Net Force are sponsoring the competition and is not charging students for the competition.
Due to limited spots, we are presently serving only the State of California. Depending on availability, we may open to additional States.
The technology requirements are:
- Broadband Internet
- VMware Workstation, VMware Fusion or Oracle VirtualBox to run virtual machines
- Microphone for Discord
Chromebooks are not supported.
We will be arranging all teams. Whether you are a single student, or you are part of an academic program revolving around cybersecurity, students from all California home schools, middle schools, high schools, and community colleges are welcome.
All students in 7th-12th grade and community college students are eligible to compete. Parents, Staff, and Faculty Members are welcome to observe.
